Bike Recoveries

My bike was stolen from outside the Clapham Grand Theatre and a week later I was contacted by a lovely gentleman who bought it from Facebook. I hope the police catch the thief and I hope he (yes he, caught on cctv) pays for taking what's not his.

Found in neighbour’s garden

Bike was bought at a car boot sale near Orpington. Cheddi very kindly got in touch and it has now been returned!

I noticed for sale on Facebook. I made contact with the seller and arranged a meeting outside a supermarket. Luckily there was police on site. I mentioned what I was going to do. So they were on standby. I got hands on the bike. Identified it was mine then the police came across and dealt with the individual. Unfortunately it's not in great condition.

The bile was removed from an address in Cambridge, together with a number of other bikes. We have collected the bike but unfortunately quite a few smaller repairs are required to make the bike safe to ride again.

Contacted by local police who identified the bike register sticker and contacted me via the database to return my bike. SO happy :-)

Left at same place from which it was stolen, 48 hours after theft.

Family went out for a walk around where I live then my little girl organised the bike was locked trough the lamp post my wife called to police they break the lock and is in garage safe

Located a few doors down semi unfolded. Thieves don't know the secret to the Brompton Fold.

Police found it unlocked. Battery, saddle and tires were changed. I am very happy to have it back. Thank you very much, Police!

Since it was stolen 5 months back I always kept an eye open when I see someone on a MTB, I knew one day I would spot it, and almost 5 months later BINGO, I did, driving along a few miles from where it was stolen and instantly knew my bike, talked to the rider explained it was stolen and as I had photos and id numbers and police report and described all about the bike and its slightly grinding headset, showed the original sticker now removed (paint faded underneath)so I gave the option of Police or hand it back, doubt it was the rider that was involved, just brought it from a bloke 4 months back, a few changes been made, but will rectify them, happy to have it back in time for winter road riding instead of my new trail one. Police will be informed of recovery to add to the crime number

A person called the store wanting to buy a charger, as they knew my bike had been stolen they asked to see the bike. When she arrived they confirmed the frame number and informed the customer that it had been stolen and informed the police. And they called me to get it back.

Found my bike via a kind soul posting photos of it hidden in our local park on a community facebook group! (Not a cycling group). So worth posting pics on local community groups/in your community etc, and telling everyone you know. I wasn't a member of the facebook group, but a friend forwarded me the photos :)

I saw a post on Facebook (a local anti cycle crime group https://www.facebook.com/groups/602540703484361/ ) of a man attempting to steal a wheel from another bike but my stolen bike was pictured in the background. I found out where the picture was taken and went and recovered it. It had been locked by the thief presumably ready for collection later but we removed that lock and it is now back in my possession!
