Found by police during a drug raid

Contacted by Bike Register as someone had found my bike on the street

Bike was purchased through ebay, the buyer noticed damage to the frame where the bike had been welded to steal it. They then checked the frame number on the bike register and contacted me via the bike register website to say they had purchased my bike. The bike was then turned in to Twickenham police as stolen property and we collected it. The eBay seller is selling other stolen items under unique seller IDs (the most recent a hot pink Tern sold on 2 April). Ebay has been alerted but not taking action

I saw the bike being advertised on Gumtree. I contacted the seller, made contact with the Police, and then went to get in back. It was located in Harrow, stolen in Croydon.

I received text from neighbourhood about my bike. I went to check and contacted police when able to verified my bike, police helped me to retrieve it back to home. The bike was stripped to almost bare frame and wheels, almost all parts are gone now. Hence, the bike is technically half stolen at this point.

Bike tracker was traced overnight to a residential address. Officers traced it to the address at approximately 10.30am 3rd April. Returned to owner approximately 12.15 that same day. Abus lock attached to bike was removed and not recovered. Otherwise no other damage.

Winton police contacted me and informed me that someone had handed in my bike. Very grateful to all involved.

I was contacted by Matthew Fortey via Bike Register. He had found the bike dumped near his house following a spate of burglaries in our area. Despite bringing the bike to the police to report it, they advised for him to sell it or give it to charity. However, he didn't think this was right and when he noticed the bike register sticker he got in touch. Not sure why the police didn't simply check as I had given the details so am grateful for Matt for taking the trouble to contact me.

We alerted social media and the cycling community that our bike had been stolen. This morning we were notified that our bike had been seen on Harton Street, near Deptford High Street. Pictures were also uploaded on social media. I went there and indeed the bike was there. The thieves didn’t manage to cut through the big padlock and chain, which where on the front wheel.

The bike was confiscated at a school who contacted the police who scanned it and found me
