Bike Recoveries

Found laying on the street of one of the neighbourhood areas. The person who saw my post on FB contacted me. Someone just took it for a ride and then left it

It went in for service at Hawk Cycles and a friend who works there noticed the bike was mine so they phoned the police .so the police phoned me today to ask for details about the bike and told me to collect it

Seen for sale on shpock, police informed, alleged thief caught, and stolen bike found, though all accessories stripped off it.

I found my bike being sold on Facebook 16 days after it was stolen. I met the seller with police back up and recovered it. Seller changed the locking mechanism on the battery since I had the original key. Police arrested him. The bike is now safe with me.

Advertised on Gumtree attended address and was confirmed as serial number matched .

Found dumped a couple of hours after theft by Jonathan Cousins, who thankfully kept the bike safe and posted details on the Stolen Items In Doncaster Facebook page. Many thanks to Jonathan for safely recovering my bike. Fantastic help and very much appreciated!

Fellow Londoner who bought it on Facebook Marketplace contacted me after realising it was a stolen bike and finding frame number on www.stolen-bikes.co.uk. Before this, I too had seen the FB Marketplace advert and been in contact with 101 but had been taken down and sold within the day.

Saw an ad on gumtree wanting to reunite bike with owner. I contacted and confirmed serial numbers and picked it up! Still good people in this world

I was contacted by the National Bike Registry to tell me that a local resident had found the bike in the bin area of their flat, and was holding it in safekeeping for me.

Contacted by my Estate Management team lead, who had noticed a group of individuals hanginig around the area and my bike missing last Thursday. Nathan Howard directed to the "STOLEN bikes in Cambridge" facebook page, where I found Hannah Seaby's post with my bike, which she had found discarded last Friday by Trumpington Waitrose! She kept it safe and sound for me and I was able to collect it within a few hours. No significant damage other than they succeeded in scratching off most of my 2nd BikeRegistry sticker - the 1st was already half scratched off from when it was stolen in 2019.

Was found abandoned at nearby address 2 doors down. Unlocked it as has lock key on person. Likely scenario was that thief was unable to break D-lock and thus couldn't do anything with the bike as it was unrideable with the lock connecting the front wheel and frame and so discreetly returned it. Praise God!
