The Rise Of The E-Scooter

The Rise Of The E-Scooter

In the UK, it is illegal at the moment to ride an electric scooter on public roads and pavements as they are not considered roadworthy vehicles.

They are only supposed to be used on private land, yet there are currently government-backed trials of rental e-scooters taking place in parts of the UK, so this could change.

With retailers reporting that the sales of e-scooters are flourishing (a lower range e-scooter costs around £300, rising up to over £2,000 for some deluxe models), this could make them desirable targets for theft.

We have had queries about registering e-scooters on our BikeRegister database, and our advice would be to mark and register them as soon as possible after purchase at http://www.bikeregister.com in the same way that you would a bike.
