Schools & Students

This area of the website is designed to enable students, schools, colleges and universities, to register and mark their bicycles so they become less vulnerable to theft, and easier to return if recovered by the Police.

As well as this, we are here to advise you on the best practice when leaving your bike outdoors, and types of bicycle insurance which may help you.

Students

Registering your bike with BikeRegister is FREE. By clicking on the link below and going through the registration process, you will be ensuring that your bike is on the UK's national cycle database. The Police (and no one else) has 24hr access to the data so they can check the registered keeper of any bike they come across.

Not all frame numbers are unique, so to ensure your bike has its own personal identity, you may also consider purchasing one of our three kits - Bronze, Silver or Gold. The Silver and Gold options contain a Police Preferred security marking kit - like a bike tattoo - which will also help deter thieves from stealing your bike.

    Schools, colleges and universities

To protect your students' bikes from theft, we are able to offer our BikeRegister Security Marking Kits to purchase in bulk, so that you can organise Bike Marking days and events - just like the ones you may have seen the Police carrying out with BikeRegister at train stations, shopping centres etc.

To assist you in promoting marking events, or just to raise awareness on cycle security and our Lock it, Mark it Campaign, we also have a range of marketing assets available including posters and leaflets.
