Wheelie Good Bike Schemes Take Off

18 Jul 2010

Bike marking sessions organised by Northumbria Police have proved popular with young cyclists in North Tyneside.

One session was held at the Guide and Scout headquarters in Manor Road, North Shields, where nearly 40 bikes were marked and details placed on BikeRegister.com

A second event was held at Marden Residents Association in Cullercoats and saw riders queuing up to keep their bikes safe and police marked a further 15 bikes.

PC Paul Athey of the North Shields Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: “These events are a great way of helping cyclists keep their bikes safe and preventing crime.”
