BikeRegister, the UK’s national cycle database, has partnered with cycle insurance specialists cycleplan to offer customers more help to protect their bikes.

BikeRegister is the leading online bicycle identification and registration initiative aiming to reduce cycle theft, identify stolen bikes and assist in owner recovery. 

More than 337,000 bikes have been registered on the secure BikeRegister database and around 5,000 searches to check for stolen bikes take place every week. 

cycleplan will offer four weeks free insurance to cyclists who register their bike with BikeRegister. Cover will be for cycles(s) worth up to £2,000 and clothing and accessories up to £500. 

Once the ‘no obligation’ free insurance trial is over, customers will be offered a 20% discount off an annual cycleplan policy and those who have used the BikeRegister kit to mark and protect their bike will be offered a twenty five per cent discount.

“We are always looking at ways to encourage bike security. By working with BikeRegister we can help cyclists do all they can to prevent theft but if the worst happens, we are there to get them back on the saddle as quickly as possible ,” said John Woosey, Managing Director of cycleplan.
