BikeRegister App Opens To The Public31 Mar 2020
The BikeRegister mobile app is now available for members of the public and retailers to download on android devices through the Google Play Store.
BikeRegister is the UK’s national cycle database and the leading online bicycle identification and registration initiative aiming to reduce cycle theft, identify stolen bikes and assist in owner recovery.
The app allows you to set up a BikeRegister account, register the details of your bike and upload images. There are over 900,000 bikes registered on the secure database.
The features of the new BikeRegister app include: checking a cycle serial or frame number to see if a bike is stolen; registering bikes on the database; and viewing videos on how to mark and register cycles.
The app is also available to the police and is being used by 23 police forces including British Transport Police who are actively using it to support them at the many bike marking sessions that take place at train stations and other locations across the UK.
The app allows an officer to log in to their BikeRegister police account and start uploading bikes in real time to the database, without the need for filling out spreadsheets during marking events. It also provides a quick and easy way to search a bike and retrieve the owner’s details. If you don’t have a police account with us yet, then you can create one through the app by using your .pnn.police.uk email.
James Brown, BikeRegister MD, said: “Following its recent launch, the new BikeRegister app has been welcomed by members of the public. Police and
crime prevention officers have also hailed it as a quick and effective tool to help fight bike crime.”
