Belfast Bike Theft Down 20%

Following a concerted drive over the last six months to reduce bike theft in Belfast, PSNI are delighted to announce their efforts have paid off.
Latest statistics reveal that bike theft was down around 20% after police ran a Lock it Or Lose it campaign, which involved the promotion of a best practice bike locking
video, bike locking reminders in bike storage areas and BikeRegister bike marking events.
Working in conjunction with Sustrans NI and local cycle shops, bike marking has been offered at a variety of events across the city including charity cycle rides and cycling club sportives.
