New Marking Scheme Launches In Stratford

POLICE in Stratford, Warwickshire, are aiming to bring bike theft down to an all-time low by launching a new BikeRegister scheme.

After teaming up with Stratford District Council, PCSOs Dominic Bes-Jeary and Barney Tandy from Stratford Safer Neighbourhood Team, marked over 100 bikes on the launch day at the Stratford River Festival.

Each person who had their bike marked received a complimentary cycle safety pack which included hi-visibility clothing and information about how to keep a bike safe.

“Tackling cycle crime was recently voted as a community priority and this new registration scheme in Stratford will no doubt be an effective way to prevent cycle crime,” said PCSO Bes-Jeary.
