Malvern Hills District Council Helps Keep Bikes Safe

Local residents were offered the chance to keep their bikes safe from thieves at a series of bike marking events held across the Malvern Hills District.

Organised by Malvern Hills District Council, bike marking consists of applying a unique identifiable number to the frame of the bike, which is then registered with BikeRegister. This reduces the risk of a bike being stolen and if stolen, it makes it easier to report and
find it again.

Cllr Tom Wells, Portfolio Holder for Community Services at Malvern Hills District Council, said: “It is so important that we take measures to protect bikes from thieves, these bike marking events will give residents peace of mind if their property is ever stolen or lost.

Property marking is like giving your belongings a unique
fingerprint which will help identify them, and there is a greater chance of being reunited.”
