Partnership Working Helps Gather Local Intelligence16 Apr 2019
British Transport Police and Thames Valley Police were a great example of partnership working when they joined together for a bike marking event at Ascot station recently.
Rob Forder, from BTP said: “Doing a joint bike marking event is a great way to meet colleagues from other forces and swap ideas and local intelligence which is instrumental in ensuring suspects are identified and dealt with quickly and effectively.”
During the course of the event, nearly 30 bikes were marked in total. Rob said: “Events like these go a long way to showing the victims of cycle crime that we do take their situation seriously and will do all we can to assist and support them.”
“We would also encourage people to get advice on how to lock their bikes up properly, what type of locks to use and more than anything the importance of getting their bike registered on the BikeRegister scheme.”
