BikeRegister Network Across West Midlands
19 Aug 2016
BikeRegister is being used across the 10 police areas that make up the West Midlands Police Force.
Use of BikeRegister is enthusiastically supported by Crime Reduction Team members Mark Silvester and Andrew Hollies.
Mark said: “The network of police users are backed up by other trained staff from universities, several local councils, cycle education groups and Transport for West Midlands. Staff arrange their own events or work on community events throughout the year. They are trained to spot BikeRegister products and other unique identifiers on cycles whilst undertaking their duties.
"We have marked several hundred bikes as part of campaigns in 2015/2016 so far and the Birmingham Bike Scheme is uploading their cycles to the BikeRegister database based on our advice.
"We are happy to say we have also recovered bikes using BikeRegister including one recently from Coventry."
