Bike Theft Set To Crumble

Following a spate of bike thefts at a business improvement district (BID) in Bermondsey, south-east London, a new scheme is being launched to help tackle the problem.

Russell Dryden, BID manager of Blue Bermondsey, which is made up of around 300 businesses, said: “We are organising a special event where BikeRegister kits will be handed out to anyone who cycles to work at the Biscuit Factory, a creative quarter which is part of our BID and is home to a collection of advertising and media companies.”

The Biscuit Factory dates back to the Victorian age and was formerly the headquarters of the Peek Frean biscuit company.

Russell added: “The BikeRegister scheme will start at the factory site but will be expanded and offered to our other BID members in due course.”
