Bike Found During Drugs Search Is Traced Back To Owner

An MPS Camden Town & Primrose Hill Officer flagged BikeRegister on Twitter to let us know about a stolen mountain bike he had uncovered during a police search.

PC Sam Sharpley (pictured) said: “We were executing a drugs search
warrant on a Camden address, so not particularly looking for stolen property.”

However, the mountain bike in question was out of keeping with the rest of the flat.

“I checked the frame number on our crime reporting and it came back with nothing. I checked against BikeRegister on my phone and found that it was registered to a man living around the corner.”

The man had registered the bike shortly after buying it, allowing police to trace him.
