Council Steers Residents Towards BikeRegister

10 Jul 2010

The London Borough of Brent has launched a BikeRegister scheme to prevent bicycle thefts in Willesden Green and assist with owner recovery.

Officers from the local Safer Neighbourhood Team have been working with the council to hold Bike Marking Days where residents can have their bikes registered for free.

Asfah Kosir from Oliver Road in Willesden Green attended one of the days at Willesden Sports Centre with her two children. Asfah said: “It\‘s great to see this free scheme as anything that encourages people to get on their bikes is good for local people.”

Around 450 bicycle owners from Willesden Green are expected to benefit from the initiative.
